The UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20) Africa Regional Preparatory Meeting was held in conjunction with seventh session of the Committee on Food Security and Sustainable Development (CFSSD-7) and took place from 20-25 October 2011, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The meeting, organized by UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the African

Addis Ababa, 24 October 2011 (ECA) – The Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Mr. Abdoulie Janneh, today launched the ministerial segment of the Africa Regional Preparatory Conference for Rio+20 with an ardent call for African policymakers to rethink existing growth paradigms for the continent.
